| Listen to Elevator Magic You need to make your lift use strips of paper to show how many floors you have. Or build a lego tower or unifix tower to show your building and number of floors. You start on one floor and go down. What floor do you land on? Can you create a number sentence to show this? |
| Challenge: You are the designer of the building that creates a lift. You need to choose a floor. How many different equations can you make that land on that floor? e.g. start at floor 10 go down 8 land on 2. Can you think of another way that you could land on floor 2. e.g. start at floor 4 and go down 2 and land on floor 2. |
Enabling Prompt: Kids might like to use bricks with numbers to assist them with this problem
Extending Prompt: Your building must be higher than 10 floors high. Pick a floor that your lift will land on. Create ALL the different possibilities in order to land on this floor and prove it.
