Ask students to pair and share their house number. Get students to identify whether their house number is odd or even.

The Bonbeach Mayor is making new letterbox patterns.
Enabling: He would like you to label the missing numbers in the following letter boxes (slide 6)
Mid: The mayor would like you to fill in the missing numbers in the letter boxes and guess his pattern (slide 7)
Extending: The mayor does not like single digit numbers. He would like all his letter box numbers to be odd numbers. He wants them to go up in a pattern. What could his letter boxes look like? What’s the pattern? (slide 8)
