Discuss.

Give pairs of children two  full sets of coins.

Place one set  according to value. How did you know what to do?Place other set according to size. “What are the differences?”

Provide students with a random pile of coins. Have them sort the coins in as many ways as they can (size, shape, colour, animal pictures etc.)

Present findings to the class.
