Camp- Division

Launch: https://www.hallsoutdoored.com.au/wombat-corner/activities website, with students, going through the different activities that we might be doing at our camp later in the year.

Discuss with students about what the accommodation could look like – how many per room? Draw a room example up on the board that has 2 beds – if we have 26 students, how many rooms will we need?

Explore:

There are 48 kids on a bus and they are going into accommodation of 2 bedroom, 3 bedroom and 4 bedroom cabins for camp. If you were the coordinator how would you accommodate this?

If you had 4 students in each room, how many rooms do we need to book? Or 3 per room? Etc.

What strategies did you use to solve your problem? How many rooms in total does the school need to book for our camp? Different possible solutions

En: 20 students – how many in each room? How many rooms will you need to book?

Ext: Do whole 3/4 cohort (25 + 26 + 26 + 26). Don’t forget the teachers. What if you had to accomodate the whole school.
