Money- Making $1

Place on the board two collections of coins each having $1 in it. You may have to blue tack these to the board. Put one in a line and one in a group. Turn and talk and see if you can work out how to count the coins?

Which is more? 

$1 coins as long as their finger tip to elbow

$1 coins as long as their foot

Enabling- Use a number chart or tens frame to assist with the counting.

Extending- Use a combination of $1 and $2.
