Place Value- Making Teen Numbers

The players take turns to turn over two playing cards. When the two numbers are added, if they make less than ten they return them face down to a discard pile. If they make a teen number your task is to make this number.

Have materials for the kids to use e.g. unifix, tens frames, sticks and elastic bands, containers to put a ten into and ones to put ones into.

How many different ways can you make your number.
