Donut categories
Simple, but was a great discussion. Give students a donut template, and the can design their own donuts. Then, once they are designed, place them on the floor and sit is a circle. Ark the students “How could we organise or categorise these donuts?” They will come up with lots of ways. Choose one, then use the donuts they made to construct a dot plot on the board, labelling the graph, with the help of the students. Then you can ask questions about the data!
