Bedroom-Location
Introduce the focus by having a discussion with students about their bedrooms.
Ask the students to close their eyes and picture their bedroom. Tell them to imagine they are at the door of their bedroom. Ask them to look at the bed, then the window(s), then the cupboards or wardrobes.
We do: Once the students open their eyes, ask them to draw a map of their bedroom in their grid book.
Ask students to sit with a partner.
Each student shows and talks about their bedroom map.
The pair chooses one map to use.
Give each pair a base board, boxes, and LEGO.
Ask them to build a model of the chosen bedroom using the map.
When finished, display the models with the maps.
Do a gallery walk so the class can look at all the models and maps.
