Online shopping – fractions
Your family has just received their online shopping order, and needs you to help put the fruit and veggies away.
1.Draw a lay out of your kitchen in your maths book eg. where the fridge is, fruit bowl, and pantry.
- You have received:
- 10 oranges
- 12 apples
- 12 potatoes
- 10 onions
- 1 punnet of strawberries
- 6 bananas
- These are the instructions your mum or dad gives you, draw in your book where everything would go in your kitchen.
- ½ the oranges in the fruit bowl, ½ in the fridge
- ¼ apples in the fruit bowl, ¾ in the fridge
- ¼ potatoes in the cupboard, ¼ on the bench to cook for dinner, ½ in the fridge
- ½ onions in cupboard, ½ on the bench to cook for dinner
- 1 whole punnet of strawberries in the fridge
- ½ bananas in the fruit bowl, ½ in the fridge
Extension:
Change numbers to be 1/3 and 1/8’s
