Use the large tens frame. Place the dots two different colours. Kids look at it then on whiteboards create a number sentence to match.

Exploring a tens frame.

Play in pairs for one round. One child places two different colours on to their tens frame. They write a number sentence to match their equation. Their partner now has to make another combination on the tens frame that has the same total. Continue until no more combinations are possible. The winner is the person that comes up with the most combinations.
