Animal Sorting

How can we sort our own grade into groups? Use the pictures of each of the class members.

Watch Madagascar– have a look at the different animals. Now let’s try and classify it.

Sort the animals in as many ways as possible.

Give students a range of animals to put into groups.

Can you represent your group of animals in another way? e.g. pictograph/ tally

Enabling:

Provide possible classifications e.g. tall/short

Provide circles to group students.
