What’s My Number?

  • Invite 2 students to stand at the board facing the class.
  • Write 2 numbers above their heads so they cannot see.
  • Say “you add these number together anf the total is ___”. (eg 20). “What is your number”
  • Take turns guessing what your number could be. 

 

Audience participation:

Come up with appropriate reactions to the guesses. For example.

  • If the player guesses a number more than 2 away from the the number above their head then the audience does not react.
  • If the player guesse a number within 2 of the number above theur head then the audience can go “ooooooooohhh”!
  • If the othe player 1 guesses player 2’s number then the audience can twinkle their fingers in the air. 

Enabling: Smaller numbers

Extending: Larget numbers, multiply numbers together instead of adding.
