Magic Number
Play this game to practise a range of multiplication facts. Not suitable for students who are still learning the concept of multiplication.

- Place students in like ability pairs with a deck of cards
- Teacher calls out magic number e.g. 2
- Students take in turns flipping over one card at a time and multiplying the card by the magic number set.
- The first person to correctly call out the product keeps the card.
- The player with the most cards at the end of the deck wins.
- Teachers can call out a new magic numbers whilst students are playing to practise other multiplication facts.
En/Ext: give individual pairs/groups different magic numbers to the rest of the class e.g. give a pair a magic number of 9 whilst everyone else plays with 5.
