Powerpoint 3-11

Fraction Detectives.

You will need to have these printed and cut before the lesson

Ask students to stand in a circle. Provide each student with a piece from the fraction wheel.

Allow students to walk around the classroom so they can find the matching parts to make a whole circle.

Once students have found their group, ask them to sit down together and make their circle using the fraction pieces.

What do you notice? Make connection between the number of pieces in the group and the fraction name
