Warm Up
Look through the ppt to revise the names of the shapes and their properties.
Launch
Give each student a card. There is a difference as there are 2D and 3D shapes. Students walk around the room and match the pieces to match the name to the shape sit down when you find your partner. Revise length, edges, corners, triangle, square, straight, same.
Introduce Side, vertex, angle, congruent, perpendicular, parallel, symmetrical, Acute, obtuse, regular, rhombus, trapezium, hexagon.
Explore
Students select shapes to trace around to create a picture.
After they have finished, count the number of triangles, squares etc that they used.
You can record this using a tally.

ENA: Use given pictures to match shapes
EXT: Ask students to tally sides or corners of the shapes they have used.
