Place Value Cups Game

Mark 2 paper cups – (tens and ones) and place on the floor. 

Mark 2 paper cups – (tens and ones) and place on the floor. 
In groups students take turns throwing their counters/unifix (20 each) into the two cups. from a set distance. 
Empty the tens cup and count the tens. Empty the ones cup and count the ones (53 in the picture)

Students writes down their number on a piece of paper. 

After each student has has their turn, line up in order from highest number to lowest number. 

Highest – 10 points

Next highest – 9 points and so on. 

Students keep a record of their own score. 

Enabling – 2 cups

Extending – 3 or 4 cups to include hundreds/thousands
