LI: We are learning to represent fractions in different ways.

Choose a first name from your grade and write on WB.

Write it again using red for consonants and blue for vowels.

Count the letters (this is the denominator or how many letters in the collection.)

Count the vowels (this is the numerator or how many we are interested in)

Represent in words e.g. two out of three of the letters in my name are vowels. Represent as a fraction.
