Show Me the Teddies (Fractions of a collection)

Have some teddies in a container (not see through). Some are green and some are blue. Half are green and half are blue. 

What could this look like?

Teacher to model strategies:

-draw a diagram (draw green and blue teddies)

-make a model (green and blue counters/ unifix etc)

-guess and check

-make a table

-write an equation (3g+3b=6)

-work backwards 8= 4+4 (some students might work out half is dividing by 2, this is great!)
